PTA Halloween Disco

We're just a few weeks away from the scariest night of the year. This means that it’s time to start thinking about costumes, candy and most importantly PTA Halloween Discos. The children have missed out on having their Halloween Disco last year due to the pandemic. Let's bring back this tradition while still staying Covid-Safe! 

One quick and easy way to do this is to eliminate cash handling by selling tickets online. Let’s face it there's no better way for the kids to celebrate than with all their schoolmates at this year’s disco. So get started on creating an ultimate experience for the kids like never before - all while remaining cautious and not having to worry about money exchanging hands.

All tickets can be sold online with PlanSocial, this can include entry tickets as well other items such as drinks and snacks that can be available during your eventful night of celebrating.

Keep reading and we’ll walk you through the steps for you to start selling tickets now!

Step 1: Create a free Hub for your school

Click here to sign up for your free hub.

Step 2: Add parents to your new school Hub

Simply click the plus sign to invite new members. You will need their first and last name, email address and phone number.

Step 3: Add a new event using our ‘Halloween Kids Disco’ template

Enter a title and select ‘Halloween Kids Disco’ from the dropdown, then select 'Go'.

Step 4: Connect your payment account

Select ‘Sell online tickets’ and click the link to connect your payment account.

You'll first be prompted to connect to your existing Stripe account - select ‘Yes’ if you already have an account. Don’t worry if you don’t, you can just create a new one here in minutes - simply select ‘No’ and follow the instructions.

You will need to provide your PTA's bank details and a contact person. (You can also provide proof of your PTA's charity status to benefit from reduced-rate Stripe fees.)

Step 5: Create tickets to sell for entry and any additional items

Create a ticket under ‘Edit Tickets’ for parents to buy entry tickets and more.  Under ‘Items’  you can add any additional items you would like to sell at the disco and you can even add pictures.  Don’t forget the glow sticks. These are usually a big hit!

Step 6: Edit the ‘Forms’ tab to collect necessary information

Step 7: Add tasks for volunteers to choose from

We make it simple for parents and even school staff to volunteer with our pre-loaded tasks that you can edit to make your own. 

Step 8: Add a date and publish to make the event live

Click the Edit button at the top right of the web page.

Enter the details of your event.  We’ve even pre-populated some text to help.

Once you have everything set up to your liking you can share the link with your PTA members and start selling those tickets!
